Invitation to all SANEF Instructors
As a result of many enquiries,
SANEF is making provision on it's website for
Instructors, who are in possession of the SANEF
Instructors Level 1,2 and 3 qualifications to have
their details published on the SANEF website which
will be accessible to members of the public.
To be listed you will need to be in possession of a
current Level one First Aid Certificate; have
completed the application form and be a member in
good standing with any one of SANEF Provincial
Bodies or Member country of FEI Group IX.
This advertising opportunity is being made available
to you for an administrative fee of R160 and is
renewable when your First Aid Certificate is due for
renewal.
The details of qualified SANEF Instructors who are
not members of a SANEF Provincial Body or Group IX
country are recorded on a master list, care of the
Director of the National Instructors Plan.

The SANEF National Instructors' Examinations were introduced 1976
and have been conducted regionally in the main riding centres ever since.
Candidates from countries beyond South Africa' borders are welcomed.
To date, candidates from as far as Kenya, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Tanzania,
Botswana and Swaziland have achieved the SANEF qualifications.
Membership of SANEF affiliated regional bodies or Southern Africa Zone
countries is not compulsory, but is recommended.
Eight levels of national qualifications are offered. These are obtained on
completion of sequential modules:
- SANEF Certificate of Stable Yard
Skills-Stage 1(module1) NQF1
- SANEF Certificate of Stable Yard Skills
–Stage2 (module2) NQF2
- SANEF certificate of Horsemastership
(module3) NQF3
- SANEF Certificate of Horsemastership &
Preliminary Riding Instruction (module 4) NQF4
- SANEF Certificate of Horsemastership &
Riding Instruction-level 1 (module5) NQF5
- SANEF Certificate of horsemanship, Horsemastership
& Riding Instruction-level 2 (module 6) NQF6
- SANEF Certificate of Horsemanship, Horsemastership
& Riding Instruction-level 3 (module 7) NQF7
- SANEF National Discipline Coaches Register (RPL Process of
assessment)
Through our membership of the international Group for Equestrian
Qualifications, holders of the SANEF Instructor's Certificate (Level 1,2 or
3) qualify for international Equestrian Passports.
A Certificate in first Aid (Level 1) is compulsory from Module
3 up.
Candidates may take the examinations prior to obtaining a First Aid
Certificate but SANEF qualifications are only awarded once Candidates
are in possession of a First Aid Certificate.
Practical experience is a prerequisite. Candidates are responsible for
self-study as formal training is not provided by the SANEF National Instructors’
Plan. However, the regional chairman are happy to advise candidates of any seminars or training programmes in their areas.

General Exam

All Exam applications must reach us no later than 4 weeks prior to the
exam date, along with proof of payment. Please contact the regional
Chairman in your province (see page 2) for further information.
Important note
- Modules are to be completed in sequence.
- A minimum of 6 candidates is required to hold an exam. If this number
is not met an exam will be cancelled.
- It is the responsibility of candidates to confirm with the respective regional
Chairman whether their application has been received, and to find out where and
when the exam will be held.
